"Barbarians" is an episode of the multiday theatrical project "The World of Rome", produced in the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre. The project "The World of Rome" consists of a twenty-one days long series of performances directed by students of the Studio of Individual Directing (MIR-6). The episode "Barbarians" took place on the twelfth day and bacame a part of the collective artistic exploration of the modernity.

Anna Molkanova found the inspiration for the episode in the poem titled "Waiting for the Barbariens" that was written by a famous greek poet of the modernist era Constantine P. Cavafy. The episode "Barbarians" is dedicated to the topic of the constant human pursuit to pinpoint the essense and values of the society in which we live.
